Dear Parents/Carers,

You may have seen some of the exaggerated and sometimes inaccurate information about Coronavirus being
circulated on Social Media.

I am writing to reassure you that there are no planned school closures or re-scheduling of examinations. I am
checking the Department for Education updates and OFQUAL daily.

In the unlikely event of school closure, I will notify the relevant authorities first. I will then very
quickly communicate with you in order to share arrangements.

You do not need to worry about examinations or the personal safety of students.

The best thing they can do is follow the Public Health England advice which is;
  • Wash hands regularly with soap and warm water for 20 seconds.
  • Sneeze into a tissue, place it in a bin then wash hands thoroughly.
  • Let us know if you have been to one of the Category 1 regions or have been to a Category 2 region (You can check this online). You are not at risk if you have been in contact with anyone who has visited these countries, unless they have been confirmed as having the COVID-19 virus.
  • Please call NHS 111, 999 in emergencies if you or your children develop symptoms and have to stay at home. We will check you have done this when you notify us of your absence. There is no need to stay off school. This was confirmed within the Department for Education guidance last updated on 12th March 2020.
Thank you for your continued support.

Mr R Trafford
