Special Educational Needs Provision - 2017 / 2018

Holyhead School is committed to providing a broad and balanced curriculum for all students. The statutory National Curriculum inclusion statement sets out three principles for developing an inclusive curriculum. Schools must: 

1. set suitable learning challenges
2. respond to pupils’ diverse learning needs
3. overcome potential barriers to learning and assessment for individuals and groups of students.

The needs of the majority of students will thus be met through teachers’ normal planning via the use of school’s uniquely SEND focused lesson plan document and specific focus on ‘Quality First Teaching’ (QFT) Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
