Dear Parent/Carer,

I would like to take the opportunity of informing you of the arrangements for the start of the new academic year at Holyhead and provide you with some important information about how we can work together to maintain standards at the school.

School will open for students on Wednesday 4th September 2019. Year 7 and Year 10 students will need to be in school for 8:40am.  Part of the morning session for all students will be spent with Form Tutors. Normal lessons will begin after lunch at 1:40pm.

Included with this letter, you will find:
Please note new Year 7 students should purchase a clip on College tie representing the College they were placed in on New Intake Day.  If you have any queries, please contact Mrs Marnell or Mrs Edwards on 0121 523 1960.

In September your son/daughter will be issued with their Holyhead Planner.  This Planner is an important teaching and learning tool that must be carried at all times. We expect all students to use it both in lessons and at home and we would appreciate your support in ensuring that students carry it with them each day.  The Planner is to be used to record homework, reminders and things to do.

You will receive as part of your New Intake Parents Pack an Enrolment Form.  It is very important that this is completed as accurately as possible and contains the emergency contact numbers of at least two people. We appreciate your support in the completion of this.

Your son/daughter may have siblings or relatives in the school.  Please be aware that the key members of the staff responsible for Student Support are changing roles for September.  Please look out for our ‘Directory of Student Support’ which will come home with students at the end of the first day accompanied by a letter with details about our professional development days.

I hope that all students enjoy the summer holiday and keep themselves safe and in good health ready for their new school in September.

We look forward to welcoming your son/daughter to Holyhead. Please have a look at our website and social media platforms to familiarise yourself with the Holyhead magic!

Yours faithfully,

Mr R Trafford
Principal
