Dear Parent/Carer,

School Re-opening Arrangements

School will re-open for all students on Wednesday 6th September. Year 7 and Year 11 students will need to be in school for 8:40am. Students in Years 8, 9 and 10 should arrive in school no earlier than 1 0:45am for a 11 :OOam start. Time will then be spent with Form Tutors. Normal lessons will begin after lunch at 1:40pm.

Sixth Form students in Year 12 will need to be in school on Wednesday 6th September for 8:40am. Students will spend the morning with senior staff going through a number of administrative matters and receiving their timetable. It is anticipated that their enrichment activities will begin after this meeting.

Sixth Form students in Year 13 should return to school on Thursday 7th September for 8:30am. Students will spend the morning with senior staff going through a number of administrative matters and receiving their timetables. It is anticipated that their lessons will begin in the afternoon.

Sixth Form students are reminded that the expected dress code is business wear.

Safeguarding our students is at the heart of everything we do and in order to ensure our students are safe online we have developed some new policies which you may wish to familiarise yourself with.

Available to view on the school website are:
  • Social Media Policy
  • Mobile Technologies Policy
  • Advice for parents and carers on cyberbullying
I would like to remind all parents/carers of the importance of every child attending school on time for 8:40am. This is to enable students to arrive at their lesson ready to begin their learning at 8.45am prompt. If your child arrives later than 8:40am on a regular basis then valuable curriculum time is being missed.

In September your son/daughter will be issued with their Holyhead "Passport to Learning". This Passport is an important teaching and learning tool that must be carried at all times. The Passport to Learning contains vital information to help your child succeed at Holyhead. We expect all students to use it both in lessons and at home and we would appreciate your support in ensuring that students carry it with them each day.

I hope that all students enjoy the summer holiday and keep themselves safe and in good health ready for the new school year.

Finally, my thanks again for your support throughout another very special year for Holyhead.

Yours faithfully,

Mr R Trafford
Principal
