The Summer 2015 examination series revealed some outstanding achievements for Holyhead students. Yet again, our Year 11s managed to achieve some of the best individual student results in the city. The whole Holyhead community should be incredibly proud of what these students have achieved and recognise their hard work, dedication and commitment. Results day was an incredibly proud moment for the students themselves, their families and the staff who had worked so hard to prepare them over the past 5 years.

Below are some highlights of some of our truly amazing achievements.

Amongst some fantastic individual performances, some of our curriculum areas continue to maintain some breath-taking results that we are also keen to celebrate.  74% of our GCSE Mathematics students achieved at least a grade C with many going on to secure the top A*-A grades including the Further Mathematics qualification.

Every single BTEC Music student passed an incredibly challenging course with 2/3 of students achieving the higher ‘merit’ award. 70% of our GCSE History students achieved at least a grade C with a quarter of students achieving A*-A.  Similar results were also achieved in GCSE Media Studies with 70% of students achieving grade ‘C’ and one in 5 securing the very top grades. Our Art and Design Department are also celebrating 91% of students achieving at least a grade C.

We are very proud of every single student and looking forward to continuing our outstanding record of A Level results when the vast majority of these students enroll at Holyhead Sixth Form over the coming days.
