Over the last two years, Holyhead School has participated in the Contemporary Art Space Project, a programme of art-making and whole school community engagement. The project has been designed to develop the students’ sense of identity and reflect on their local area and social issues they identify as important. Whilst it has not been possible to deliver the project as originally planned due to the pandemic, the staff at Holyhead have been deeply committed to making this opportunity happen. This summer term, artist, De’Anne Crooks, has run art workshops with students to co-create this year’s contemporary artwork – all contributing to the fabulously arts-rich learning environment at Holyhead.
