Health and Social Care
Subject Intent
Health and Social Care provides students with knowledge and understanding on a wide range of topics ranging from Human Lifespan and Development to Health and Wellbeing at level 2 to Equality and Diversity, Safeguarding to Professional Development at level 3. Students learn about important values such as respect, care, compassion, commitment, communication, empathy and tolerance enabling our learners to contribute effectively when caring for people in a broad range of health and social care work placement settings from clinical to social care in our local community environments. The vocational attributes complement GCSEs whilst putting theory into practice at level 3. This also broadens students' experience and understanding of the varied progression options available to them from higher education, apprenticeships to employment in healthcare or social care settings.
