Faculty Intent

The science faculty intent is to foster a love of the knowledge that science has given to the world. Science is a subject of wonder and excitement, and we want our students to experience this. To enable this we incorporate key scientific knowledge into all topic areas, with clear progression throughout a student's time at Holyhead School. Teaching students how to analyse and think critically like a scientist, as well as how to communicate, be organised, resilient and have empathy. This can be tough, however we have embedded modelling, retrieval tasks, guided practice and enrichment activities throughout the curriculum. This provides students with the support to develop these skills and knowledge progressively, helping them to become upstanding citizens of the community,
