Diwali 2021 message to the school community and partners

3 November 2021

Dear Students, Parents, Staff, Governors and Partners,

We always know that Diwali/Bandi Chhor Divas is upon us, when the streets around our school light up and there is a special feeling of celebration within our local shops, temples, gurudwaras and homes. In the month of November, the festival of light is celebrated amongst our community and also all around the globe. It is a time of new beginnings, religious observance and jubilations for many Holyhead students and their families. The celebration of Diwali/Bandi Chhor Divas  represents the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness and coincides with harvest and the new year for many people.

The Holyhead community have faced many challenges over the last year and the pandemic has impacted on each and every one of us in some way or the other. At times like this, we come together to offer hope and positivity to those around us. The light that symbolises this festival of Diwali/Bandi Chhor Divas, not only acts as a reminder that we are grateful for our health and that of our friends and family, but also seeks to offer us a sense of hope that we have a light to lead us through these times.

From the bottom of our hearts, we wish you a Happy Diwali/Bandi Chhor Divas.Let’s celebrate the festival in the true sense by spreading joy and light up the world of others. Have a happy, safe, and blessed day.
